What Is the Destiny Matrix?

The destiny matrix — also called the matrix of destiny or matrix of fate — is a modern system that combines numerology with the 22 Major Arcana of the tarot. It was popularised by Natalia Ladini, who arranged the energies of a birth date on an eight-pointed star (an octagram made of two squares).

Each point holds a number from 1 to 22. Your birth day, month and year form the first square; their sums create the second square, the centre and dozens of supporting points. Together they describe character, talents, relationships, money and the lessons you came to learn.

How the Matrix of Destiny Is Calculated

Every number above 22 is reduced by adding its digits. Here is the full method used by our calculator:

PointFormulaExample: 27.03.1990
A — dayday (reduced if over 22)9
B — monthmonth3
C — yearsum of the year's digits1+9+9+0 = 19
D — karmaA + B + C4
E — centreA + B + C + D8
F, G, H, IA+B, B+C, C+D, D+A12, 22, 5, 13
Sky / EarthB + D / A + C7 / 10

How to Read Your Chart

Start with three points: the day energy (A) shows how you come across, the centre (E) is your comfort zone and core, and the karmic tail at the bottom shows the pattern you're working through. Then look at the money and love lines and your purposes.

Each energy has a positive (plus) and a shadow (minus) expression. The matrix doesn't judge: it shows which energies are strongest for you and invites you to live them in their best form. Our step-by-step guide to reading the matrix walks through every point.

The 22 Energies

Every point in your chart is one of 22 energies, numbered like the Major Arcana in the Marseille tradition (8 is Justice, 11 is Strength, 22 is The Fool). Open an energy to read its meaning in personality, love, money and purpose:

Destiny Matrix vs Natal Chart

The matrix uses only your date of birth, so it's the same for everyone born that day. A natal chart uses the exact time and place to place the planets in houses. They answer different questions — read our comparison, then try the planet signs calculator for the astrological side.

Questions & Answers

Is the destiny matrix accurate?

The destiny matrix is a symbolic, self-reflection tool rather than a science. Many people find its descriptions strikingly relevant; use it as a mirror, not a verdict.

Do I need my birth time for the destiny matrix?

No. The matrix uses only your day, month and year of birth.

What does the centre of the destiny matrix mean?

The centre (E) is your comfort zone — your core energy and the state in which you feel most yourself. See comfort zone.

Why are numbers reduced to 22?

Because there are 22 Major Arcana. Any number above 22 is reduced by summing its digits (e.g. 27 → 2 + 7 = 9).

Who created the destiny matrix?

The method was developed and popularised by Natalia Ladini in the 2000s, drawing on Pythagorean numerology and tarot symbolism.
