Step 1: Know the Structure
The chart has two squares. The straight square holds A (day), B (month), C (year) and D (karma). The diagonal square holds the ancestral lines F, G, H and I. The centre E sums everything up. Lines from the centre to each corner carry intermediate points that describe how energy moves through your life.
| Point | Position | What it describes |
|---|---|---|
| A | Personality (day) | The left point — the energy of your birth day. It describes how you express yourself, your character and first impression. |
| B | Soul / talents from above (month) | The top point — the energy of your birth month. It shows inner qualities, spiritual talents and how you connect with your higher self. |
| C | Material talents (year) | The right point — the energy of your birth year. It points to practical gifts and how you deal with the material world. |
| D | Karmic lesson | The bottom point — the sum of A, B and C. It shows a key lesson to work through, often linked with the karmic tail. |
| E | Comfort zone (centre) | The centre — the sum of all four. It's your core energy: where you feel most yourself and recharge. |
| F | Father's line — talents | Top-left diagonal: inherited strengths and lessons from the father's side. |
| G | Mother's line — talents | Top-right diagonal: inherited strengths from the mother's side. |
| H | Father's line — karma | Bottom-right diagonal: inherited lessons from the father's side; also part of the money area. |
| I | Mother's line — karma | Bottom-left diagonal: inherited lessons from the mother's side. |
| Sky / Earth / Purpose | Personal purpose | B+D (sky), A+C (earth), sky+earth — your personal purpose up to about age 40. |
| Karmic tail | Bottom line | Three numbers ending in D — a pattern carried over that asks to be worked through. |
| Money & love | Lower right | The line from the centre to C (money) and to D (relationships), meeting at the balance point. |
Step 2: Read the Personality Point (A)
Start on the left. A is the energy of your birth day — how you express yourself and how others see you at first. In our example (27 March 1990) A is 9 (The Hermit).
Step 3: The Centre — Your Comfort Zone (E)
The centre is your core energy and natural state. When you live it in its plus, you feel energised and 'yourself'; in the minus, you feel stuck. In the example the centre is 8 (Justice). More in comfort zone.
Step 4: Soul and Material Talents (B and C)
B, at the top, shows talents connected with your inner world; C, on the right, shows practical, material talents. Together with A they describe what you bring into the world.
Step 5: The Karmic Lesson and Tail
D at the bottom and the three-number karmic tail describe the main lesson — patterns you repeat until you learn them. The example tail is 13-9-4. See karmic tail meanings.
Step 6: Money and Love
The lower-right sector holds the money channel (towards C) and the relationship line (towards D). Read them together: they meet at the balance point. See money channel and love line.
Step 7: Purposes
Sky, earth and personal purpose describe your path up to about age 40; social purpose (from the ancestral lines) takes over from 40 to 60; the spiritual purpose combines both. See life purpose.
